January 24, 2009 Leigh opened the American Library Association (ALA) Denver Sunrise Speaker Series.

December 16, 2008 Leigh spoke at the State Theatre in Red Bluff, California, sponsored by the Red Bluff Daily News. The event was a benefit for the local food pantries.





December 9, 2008 Leigh is the breakfast keynote speaker at the DTN/Progressive Farmer 2009 Ag Summit in Chicago, Illinois.


October 27, 2008 Leigh was the featured keynote speaker at the 123rd annual Inland Press Association's Awards Breakfast in Chicago, Illinois. Also speaking at the conference was Creators Syndicate columnist, investigative journalist, author and ABC News 20/20 co-anchor John Stossel.
